Job Summary: As a Specialist in Enterprise Support Services, you will play a crucial role in leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of Big Data infrastructure and tools.

This includes collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing data systems. Key responsibilities involve service and resource/infrastructure capacity development and governance across enterprise systems.

Principal Functions

Tactical:

1. Implement approved policies and procedures for Big Data infrastructure and tools.
2. Execute and monitor performance campaigns.
3. Collaborate with business leaders to identify Big Data solutions aligned with business requirements.
4. Plan and execute Big Data solution and infrastructure upgrades and deployment.
5. Design and develop data applications and reports using selected tools and frameworks.

Operational:

1. Provide technical and operational support for Big Data solution and infrastructure.
2. Assist in user acceptance testing of Big Data solution and infrastructure.
3. Develop proactive maintenance cycles for Windows operating systems.
4. Gather, process, and analyze raw data at scale.
5. Create schedules for data and control flows.
6. Support business decisions with ad-hoc analysis.
7. Monitor data performance and modify infrastructure as needed.
8. Contribute to documentation and updating of standard operating procedures.
9. Define data retention policies.
10. Collaborate with team members for 3rd party integration of data sources.
11. Perform various tasks like writing scripts, web scraping, calling APIs, and writing SQL queries.
12. Work closely with other team members for data integration.
13. Process structured and unstructured data for analysis.

Qualifications and Experiences

• Bachelor's Degree or more in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5 - 7 years of recent experience in data engineering.
• Strong SQL/PLQL skills.
• Programming experience in Python, Spark, Kafka, or Java.
• Experience in C, Perl, Javascript is a plus.
• Knowledge of statistics.
• Familiarity with data cleaning, wrangling, visualization, and reporting.
• Experience with machine learning toolkits (H2O, Spark ML, or Mahout).
• Experience in production support and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Presto and Hive.
• Deep knowledge of data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, or information retrieval.
