Job Responsibilities
As an Accountant at Mossberry, you will be expected to perform a range of financial duties with a high level of accuracy and integrity. Key responsibilities include:

Manage All Accounting Transactions: Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, including invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.

Prepare Budget Forecasts: Collaborate with management to develop and monitor financial budgets, providing insights and recommendations to guide business decisions.

Publish Financial Statements: Prepare and disseminate financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting standards.

Balance Sheets and Profit/Loss Statements: Maintain and update balance sheets, track the company's financial performance, and generate profit and loss statements regularly.

Financial Health and Liquidity Reporting: Analyze financial data to assess the company's financial health and liquidity, preparing detailed reports to present to management and stakeholders.

Audit Financial Transactions and Documents: Conduct regular audits of financial transactions, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complies with relevant financial policies and regulations.

Reinforce Financial Data Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality and security of financial data, conducting regular database backups and implementing measures to protect sensitive information.

Comply with Financial Policies and Regulations: Stay informed of financial regulations and ensure that all company practices adhere to local, national, and international laws.

Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Closings: Oversee the closing process for each financial period, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled and financial statements are prepared in a timely manner.

Reconcile Accounts Payable and Receivable: Regularly reconcile accounts to ensure accurate tracking of incoming and outgoing funds.

Ensure Timely Bank Payments: Manage the scheduling and processing of all bank payments, ensuring that payments are made promptly and recorded correctly.

Compute Taxes and Prepare Tax Returns: Accurately calculate tax obligations, prepare and file tax returns, and ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
Requirements

Educational Qualifications: B.Sc. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: 3 - 4 years of relevant experience, particularly in an FMCG environment, with a proven track record of managing financial transactions and producing accurate financial reports.

Professional Certification: ICAN/ACAA Certification is highly desirable and will be considered an added advantage.

Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

Additional Requirements: Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Knowledge of petty cash management is essential.
Salary
N180,000 - N200,000 Monthly.
