Job Summary
Sterling Asset Management and Trustees Limited (SAMTL) is seeking a highly qualified Accountant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the bank’s financial health and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Auditing: Assist internal and external auditors with audit requests and provide necessary documentation.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to aid business decision-making.
- Accounting Standards: Stay updated with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, implementing changes as needed.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including financial reporting, taxation, and internal controls.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support in preparing budgets and forecasts, and analyze financial performance against targets.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the banking industry.
- Certifications: CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, effective communication, teamwork, proficiency in financial software and systems, and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
