Job Summary
Malaria Consortium, a leading non-profit organization specializing in malaria prevention, control, and treatment, is hiring an Administrative Officer for our Abuja office. This role involves providing administrative, logistics, and procurement support to the State office of the SMC – PF project across various states, including Kogi, Bauchi, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kebbi, FCT, Oyo, Borno, and Sokoto.
Key Responsibilities
Office Administration (35%)
- Manage day-to-day office operations with support from staff.
- Oversee office assets, utilities, equipment, and supplies management.
- Maintain an updated asset register and provide monthly reports.
- Implement an efficient filing system and ensure IT equipment maintenance.
Procurement & Logistics (35%)
- Coordinate logistics and maintain travel itineraries for staff and consultants.
- Handle procurement in line with MC policies and manage vendor relations.
- Supervise office driver and oversee vehicle movement and logistics.
- Ensure up-to-date vendor records and negotiate with hotels and transport services.
Programme Activities (30%)
- Support coordination of stakeholder meetings, workshops, and travel arrangements.
- Compile participant lists and manage contracting of short-term consultants.
- Oversee field activity logistics and ensure value for money in procurement.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Social Sciences, Project Management, or similar.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related role, preferably within the INGO sector.
Work-Based Skills and Competencies
- Highly numerate with excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of database tools is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail.
