Job Description:
As an Affairs and Relations Specialist at Schlumberger Limited, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the company's public image and safeguarding its interests. Your responsibilities will include devising strategic initiatives to enhance the company's reputation, engaging with government agencies at local, state, and federal levels, and staying abreast of legislative developments that impact our operations. Additionally, you'll cultivate relationships with industry stakeholders, oversee community outreach programs, and serve as a liaison between the company and external entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate positive relationships between Schlumberger and its employees, as well as external organizations.
- Foster professional connections with government bodies at various levels and advocate for the company's interests.
- Collaborate with industry advocates to identify common objectives and opportunities for partnership.
- Act as the primary point of contact for neighboring businesses, institutions, and communities.
- Organize and manage events and activities aimed at strengthening ties with key community stakeholders.
- Address inquiries from community members and other stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
- Plan and execute community outreach initiatives to enhance the company's reputation and promote its services.
- Monitor government and community activities that could impact Schlumberger and its clients.
Requirements:
We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about community engagement and possesses outstanding organizational, communication, negotiation, public speaking, and writing skills. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, Law, Community Relations, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of experience in advocacy or public policy. Prior experience in government affairs roles would be advantageous.
