African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF) is dedicated to enhancing food security and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Collaborating with African governments, technology developers, NGOs, seed companies, and farmers, AATF facilitates public-private partnerships to identify and provide access to innovative agricultural technologies. Our goal is to empower farmers with a range of solutions, fostering wealth and health in their communities.
As a registered charity in England and Wales and with host country status in Kenya, AATF relies on the support and collaboration of various partners and investors to achieve its mission.
We're currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our team in the position of Data Officer. This role is pivotal within the AATF Special Initiative for Strengthening Cassava Agro-Processing and Digital Solutions (ASIST-APOD), aimed at implementing a groundbreaking cassava processing technology in Fasola, Oyo State, Nigeria. This initiative integrates digital tools to enhance access to mechanization services and improve agronomy, ultimately establishing a centralized cassava processing facility accessible to village-based processors.
The Data Officer, reporting to the Project Coordinator, will be responsible for meticulous data management, including tracking study delivery data and conducting verification exercises to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Development and oversight of study data collection tools.
- Supervision of data collection, entry, and analysis.
- Conducting data quality audits and ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Collaboration with stakeholders for progress reviews and troubleshooting.
- Maintenance of databases, backups, and filing systems.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (STATA, Advanced Excel, SPSS, SAS, R, etc.).
- Experience with agricultural aggregate databases and dashboards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-directed with the ability to multitask.
- Minimum of three years' experience in information management and database administration.
