Job Purpose
As an Agronomist at Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, you will manage the business seed production process, oversee the establishment of demonstration plots, and coordinate harvesting with out-growers to meet annual business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare seed production schedules in line with the year’s targets.
- Supervise planting, rogueing, detasseling, and harvesting; provide technical support on agricultural best practices.
- Ensure quality control in the production of breeder, foundation, and certified seeds.
- Maintain records of seed production inputs, farm management practices, and stock delivery.
- Set up demonstration plots to boost seed adoption in strategic areas.
- Screen and select out-growers for seasonal seed production.
- Oversee seed logistics and maintain accurate records.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with growers and processors in the seed production value chain.
Qualifications
- HND or BSc. in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Economics, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Market intelligence experience is an advantage.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of soil and crop principles.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
