Entry Requirements for ABU DAC Admission
1. Higher National Diploma (HND):
- Must possess a National Diploma (ND) with at least a Lower Credit in relevant agricultural programs.
- Evidence of one year of industrial training post-ND is mandatory.
- Five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS in Mathematics, English, Chemistry/Physics, and Agricultural Science/Biology.
- Specific course requirements:
- Agricultural Extension and Management: ND in Agricultural Technology, Agricultural Engineering Technology, Animal Health and Production Technology, Fisheries Technology, Horticultural Technology, or NCE in Agriculture.
- Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology (Farm Power and Machinery/Soil and Water): ND in the respective fields.
- Pest Management Technology: ND in Agricultural Technology, Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology, or Science Laboratory Technology.
- Animal Health: ND in Animal Health and Production Technology.
- Animal Production Technology: ND in Animal Health and Production Technology or Agricultural Technology.
- Crop Production Technology: ND in Agricultural Technology.
- Horticulture and Landscape Technology: ND in Agricultural Technology, Horticultural Technology, or Forestry Technology.
- Home and Rural Economics: ND in Home and Rural Economics, Food and Nutrition, Hotel Management Technology, Catering, Food and Dietetics, or NCE in Home Economics.
- Pasture and Range Management: ND in Agricultural Technology, Animal Health and Production Technology, Forestry Technology, or Wildlife Management.
- AgriBusiness Management: ND in Agricultural Technology, Agricultural Engineering Technology, Animal Health and Production Technology, Fisheries Technology, or NCE in Agriculture.
- Candidates with a PASS in ND may be considered for HND admission with 2 years of relevant work experience for DAC graduates, or 3 years for graduates from other institutions.
2. National Diploma (ND):
- Admission is through JAMB.
- Candidates must adjust their first choice to a DAC college if originally chosen otherwise and must upload O’Level results to the JAMB portal.
- Five credit passes in English Language and Mathematics are required, along with other relevant subjects based on the program:
- Agricultural Technology: English, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and one from Geography, Economics, or Physics.
- Irrigation Agronomy: English, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and one from Geography, Economics, or Physics.
- Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology: English, Mathematics, Physics, Biology/Agricultural Science, and one from Chemistry, Geography, Economics, or Further Mathematics.
- Home and Rural Economics: English, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science/Food and Nutrition/Home Management, and one from Geography, Economics, or Religious Knowledge.
- Animal Health and Production Technology: English, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and one from Geography, Economics, or Physics.
- Fisheries Technology: English, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and one from Geography, Economics, or Physics.
- Horticulture and Landscape Technology: English, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and one from Geography, Economics, or Physics.
- Statistics: English, Mathematics, Physics, and two from Chemistry, Agricultural Science, or Economics.
- Computer Science: English, Mathematics, Physics, and two from Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics, or Geography.
- Science Laboratory Technology: English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and one from Geography, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics, or other related subjects.
Method of Application
- National Diploma (ND) Forms: Available online after paying N2,000 at any approved commercial bank.
- HND and ND II Special Forms: Available after paying N2,500.
- Application Steps:
- Visit the DAC portal and select the application form.
- Create an account and generate the RRR Transaction ID.
- Pay via Remita or at any online bank.
- Sales Period: Forms are available from August 30, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
