Airtel Africa has officially set the interim dividend at 2.38 cents per share, as per the Board's recommendation. Shareholders are granted the choice of currency election—USD, GBP, or Nigerian Naira. The dividend is payable on December 15, 2023, to shareholders on the register as of November 10, 2023.
For London Stock Exchange (LSE) shareholders, the entire dividend can be received in GBP or USD, with a deadline for currency election set on November 27, 2023. Shareholders who do not make a choice will receive their dividends in USD.
On the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), shareholders can opt for dividends in Nigerian Naira or USD, with the same deadline for currency election—November 27, 2023. Failure to indicate a choice will result in dividends being paid in Nigerian Naira.
The applicable exchange rates for determining interim dividend payments are 1 USD = 858.24 Nigerian Naira and 1 USD = 0.8190 GBP. These rates were based on the U.S. dollar exchange rates available on November 10, 2023.
