Duration and Purpose
The Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme runs for one academic session, from October 2024 to September 2025. It helps candidates with O’Level deficiencies to re-sit for exams and prepares them for the UTME, aiming for admission into 100-level degree programmes at LASU.

Admission Requirements
- Criteria: Candidates must have credits in at least three subjects from Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Economics, Literature in English, CRS, IRS, and Accounting, obtained in no more than two sittings in SSCE, GCE, or NECO.
- Examination: Qualifying candidates will be invited for a written examination.

Transition to 100 Level
To transition to 100 Level, candidates must:
- Sit for the UTME and obtain the minimum JAMB cut-off mark.
- Comply with university screening test requirements.
- Pass WAEC and/or NECO exams to address O’Level deficiencies.
Successful candidates will be eligible for courses in faculties such as Engineering, Science, Management Sciences, Education, Social Sciences, Law, Agriculture, Transport, Mass Communication, Nursing, Dentistry, and the College of Medicine.
Programme Success
The PDS programme has a high success rate, with 79.7% of Pre-Degree candidates scoring 200 and above in the UTME, thanks to rigorous teaching and CBT practice.
How to Apply
- Online Payment: Visit the LASU website and select “MAKE PAYMENT” to pay the ?15,000 fee for the 2024/2025 LASU PDS.
- Registration: After payment, register online via the LASU PDS Application Portal.
Closing Date: The application closes ten weeks from the publication date.
Qualifying Examination and Interview: Dates will be announced later.

- The programme is residential, with accommodation at the Epe Campus.
