The resumption of academic activities for 300 to 500-level students at Bells University of Technology is fast approaching. As students gear up to return, here are the essential guidelines and procedures to ensure a smooth transition back to campus life.
Important Resumption Details
Resumption Date:
All 300 to 500-level students are expected to resume on Sunday, 22nd September 2024. It’s crucial to take note of the instructions and prepare adequately for your return.
At the University Main Gate:
On arrival, all vehicles will undergo a thorough security check at the main gate along Idiroko Road. Parents and students are to follow the designated clearance points based on their college:
- COLENG – Marquee
- COLNAS & COLMANS – ELT
- COLENVS & COLFAST – Lecture Theatre 1
Ensure you comply with all protocols to facilitate smooth access into the campus.
General Instructions
- Arrival Time: Students should arrive between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM on the resumption day.
- Fees: A minimum of 25% of total fees must be paid before arriving on campus. The Bursary Department will be stationed at designated points to confirm fee payments.
- Course Registration: All students are expected to print and submit their course registration forms to their respective departmental officers within two weeks of resumption.
Ensure you carry hard copies of the following documents:
- Proof of payment of fees.
- Course registration forms.
- Room allocation forms.
Dress Code Guidelines
All students are expected to adhere strictly to the university’s dress code policy.
- Female Students:
- Hair should be natural and mid-back length. No tinted or odd hair colours.
- Tattoos and multiple piercings are prohibited. Nose rings, ankle chains, and unnatural body modifications are not allowed.
- Male Students:
- Hair must be neatly cut to a low length, and students should be clean-shaven.
- No tattoos, earrings, necklaces, or beaded jewellery are permitted.
Hall of Residence Procedures
Upon arrival at the halls of residence, students are required to complete the following steps:
- Present your clearance documents.
- Show proof of fee payment.
- Complete hall registration and obtain your hall ID card.
- Collect your room key.
- Conduct an inspection of your room in the presence of the hall porter to ensure that everything is in good condition.
Mandatory Health Screening
All students must complete a mandatory drug screening. The screening is scheduled to take place at the university health centre between Monday, 23rd September and Friday, 11th October 2024. The drug test comes at a fee of N15,000 per semester.
- You are required to bring your student ID card to the test centre.
- Failure to undergo the test within the specified time frame will attract penalties, and access to university services may be restricted.
