Job Title: Boiler Operator

Purpose of Job:
The Boiler Operator at Grand Oak Limited (GOL) is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of boilers, water sampling and treatment systems, as well as pipe repairs. They play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous availability of boilers for operation while adhering to safety standards and legal requirements. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role requires on-site working arrangements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed in boiler operations.
- Adhere to legal requirements governing boiler operations.
- Perform daily operations and troubleshoot issues to maintain uninterrupted boiler availability.
- Maintain accurate documentation as per company standards.
- Track boiler performance and maintain daily checklists and logbooks.
- Operate and maintain auxiliary systems such as WTTP/Softners.
- Monitor various engine parameters including natural gas, water, power, and steam.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and document them accordingly.
Job Requirements:
- OND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Previous experience in related roles such as water network operator, welder, plumber, or boiler maker is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience operating boilers in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of high-speed machinery.
Key Deliverables:
- Zero incidents in boiler and associated systems.
- Achieve 98% boiler availability and maintain efficiency at 90% or as directed by the Engineering Manager.
- Train and develop an assistant.
- Ensure 100% completion of preventive maintenance and legal compliance.
