Job Title: Bursar
Position Overview
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the Polytechnic, responsible for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs. As one of the Principal Officers, the Bursar heads the Bursary Department and is the custodian of the Polytechnic’s finances.
Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Education:
- First Degree (minimum second class lower division) or Higher National Diploma (HND) (minimum lower credit) in Accountancy or Finance-related courses from a recognized institution.

Experience:
- Minimum of 18 years post-qualification experience for first degree/HND holders.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree with 15 years cognate experience, or a Doctorate degree (PhD) with at least 12 years cognate experience, with at least 10 years in a Polytechnic or similar TVET institution.

Professional Registration:
- Must be registered with ICAN or ANAN.

Leadership Skills:
- Demonstrate strong financial administrative leadership, creativity in financial policy formulation, and good human relations.

Regulatory Knowledge:
- Knowledgeable in the Financial Rules and Regulations of the Polytechnic system.

Professional Membership:
- Evidence of membership in professional bodies.

Character:
- Must be morally sound, of impeccable character, with proven integrity, and free from financial embarrassment.

Health:
- Physically and mentally fit (evidence required from a government hospital).

Current Position:
- Must currently hold a position one rank below the Bursar (i.e., Chief Accountant, Deputy Bursar, or Director of Audit) for no less than five years.

ICT Proficiency:
- Proficient in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills and accounting software.

Age Requirement:
- Must not exceed 59 years of age at the time of this advertisement.
Terms of Appointment and Conditions of Service

Appointment Duration:
The appointment is for a single term of five years in accordance with extant provisions. -
Salary and Benefits:
The salary is consolidated, and the appointee will enjoy additional benefits attached to the position of Principal Officer of the Polytechnic as approved by the government.
