Position Overview

We are looking to hire a Female Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. This position is based in our Lagos office and is integral to our business development and growth strategy. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving business growth in the upstream sector of the Nigerian oil and gas industry. Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relations and Business Development: Foster and manage relationships with existing and potential clients in the upstream oil and gas sector. Actively seek out and articulate new business development opportunities that align with the company’s strategic goals.

  • Strategy Formulation: Lead the development, execution, and monitoring of business development and market penetration strategies to enhance the company's position and growth.

  • Sales and Account Management: Cultivate strong professional relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, while identifying new business opportunities and sales strategies. Drive business performance by delivering business development excellence tailored to client needs.

  • Industry Insights and Networking: Stay up-to-date with ongoing and upcoming projects in the upstream oil and gas sector. Attend industry events, conferences, and functions to network and identify potential business opportunities.

  • Partnerships and Agency Liaison: Build and maintain relationships with technical partners and key agencies like NUPRC, NNPC, NEPL, and Nipex, ensuring smooth project implementation and collaboration.

  • Business Intelligence: Gather and provide timely updates on market trends, competitor activities, and new technologies in the oil and gas industry. Analyze competitors’ strategies to maintain the company’s competitive edge.

  • Project and Proposal Management: Prepare and present proposals to clients, assist with the preparation of bids, and follow up on submitted tenders. Ensure the successful closure of new business deals and secure new, high-value clients.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track the company’s performance against business targets, recommending adjustments as needed to achieve business objectives. Ensure full payment for all supplies and services delivered.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in business development within the Nigerian oil and gas sector, particularly the upstream segment, with a proven track record of client account management and sales achievements.

  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the oilfield processes and the upstream oil and gas industry in Nigeria.

  • Skills and Competencies:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to identify and implement solutions to meet client needs.
    • Strategic thinking with a self-motivated, results-driven approach.
    • Proven experience in sales and winning business in the oil and gas industry.
