Job Title: Child Protection Officer
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Reporting to: Protection Coordinator, GOALPrime Organization
Duration: 10 Months
Contract Nature: Temporal Appointment
Job Summary
The Child Protection Officer oversees and implements child protection activities within GOALPrime’s programs, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in crisis situations. Responsibilities include case management, community engagement, coordination with stakeholders, compliance with standards, capacity building, and monitoring of program effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Implementation: Execute child protection activities as per project plans and donor requirements.
- Community Engagement and Awareness: Conduct outreach sessions, raise awareness, and promote child rights.
- Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with NGOs, government agencies, and stakeholders.
- Compliance and Ethics: Ensure adherence to organizational policies and ethical standards in child protection programming.
- Capacity Building: Train staff, volunteers, and partners on child protection principles and practices.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor activities, collect data, and prepare reports on program outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in child protection programming in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of child protection principles and practices; local language skills (Hausa and/or Kanuri) preferred.
