Key Purpose
The Communications and Sustainability Analyst will play a crucial role in integrating sustainability initiatives into our Corporate Communications strategies. This role involves analyzing environmental and social impact data, crafting compelling narratives, and developing communication materials that align with our organization’s sustainability goals.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyze environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data to evaluate our company's sustainability performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and execute sustainability communication strategies that engage both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support sustainability reporting efforts by gathering data, coordinating with relevant departments, and ensuring adherence to reporting frameworks and standards.
- Partner with the Corporate Communications and Sustainability Manager (CC/SM) and Corporate Affairs Managers (CAMs) on sustainability projects, including the compilation of performance and impact reports.
- Develop engaging content such as reports, presentations, website copy, and social media posts to effectively communicate our sustainability initiatives and accomplishments.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and stakeholder expectations related to sustainability, providing insights on potential impacts for our organization.
- Collaborate with the CC/SM to create annual plans and work on presentations and reports as needed.
- Identify opportunities for corporate brand growth and enhance goodwill.
- Plan and execute corporate events, conferences, and sponsorships to elevate the company’s profile and support its business objectives.
- Manage the OneDrive data repository for the company’s projects and event media, including photos and videos.
- Work with cross-functional teams, zones, and partners to implement projects effectively.
- Regularly update and maintain the company website.
- Collaborate with agencies on digital content and monitor social media interactions to ensure positive engagement and address potential reputational risks.
Requirements
Education
- B.Sc or HND in Communications, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
Experience
- 3-5 years of management experience.
- Proven track record in corporate communications, sustainability reporting, or related areas, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment.
Key Attributes and Competencies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data effectively.
- Capability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive organizational change.
- Proficiency in engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) is highly desirable.
