Job Description
As a Consultant, Payroll, you will be responsible for coordinating, directing, and controlling payroll activities, including preparation, processing, and distribution of payroll. You will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payroll information by overseeing the collection, calculation, and input of payroll data into the relevant systems.
Additionally, you will be tasked with updating payroll records by reviewing and approving changes related to employee exemptions, savings deductions, and department or division transfers, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of salaries.
- Oversee the collection, calculation, and data entry of payroll information.
- Review and approve changes in payroll exemptions, deductions, and transfers across departments and divisions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory deductions, such as pension, tax, and other remittances.
- Liaise with Human Capital and Finance departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and present payroll reports to management, highlighting key metrics and addressing any areas of concern.
Qualifications & Experience
- A first degree in a relevant field (Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or related disciplines).
- Professional certifications such as ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) are an added advantage.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Human Capital and Finance roles, with an emphasis on payroll management.
- At least 6-7 years of experience in Operations, Financial Accounting, and Payroll management.

- Human Capital Operations: Experience in managing payroll functions within Human Capital departments.
- Written Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly document payroll processes and present findings.
