Job Opportunity: Costing and Estimation Engineer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Responsibilities

Analyze proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and estimate requirements.

Possess fundamental knowledge of VFD, PLC, HMI, and automation products.

Engage with customers, consultants, and electrical contractors to promote brand awareness.

Work closely with project engineers to clarify bid documents and inquiries.
-
Prepare estimates by performing a detailed take-off of the scope of work and ensuring accuracy in calculations.

Source and assess supplier quotes for equipment and materials to ensure alignment with specifications.

Maintain organized records of working documents to support estimated figures.

Monitor pricing trends of competitors’ products within Nigeria’s electrical panel industry.

Establish strategic relationships with electrical and power systems OEMs.

Conduct market intelligence research to track competitors' activities and develop counterstrategies.
-
Oversee panel-building activities in Port Harcourt, ensuring adherence to required specifications and quality standards.
-
Identify and quantify all necessary incidentals for bid preparation, including sub-contract work, equipment rental, tools, and supplies.

Ensure timely completion of client-required documents, including system architecture and technical and commercial submissions.

Collaborate with the project management team post-bid to ensure a smooth transition and clear understanding of project scope and estimates.
Qualifications & Skills
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.

5-10 years of experience in electrical product costing, panels, switchgear, and solutions.

Proficiency in computer applications and adaptability to new technologies.

Experience in third-party interfaces, industrial networking, and safety concepts.

Strong knowledge of power and control systems, including design, configuration, and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
