Deep cleaning your home may seem daunting, but it's an essential task that shouldn't be overlooked. Whether you're preparing to sell your house or simply aiming to freshen things up, dedicating time to deep cleaning is worthwhile.
It involves thorough removal of dirt and grime from all surfaces throughout your home. To make the process more manageable, consider tackling specific areas and tasks one at a time.
Part 1: Cleaning Appliances
Step 1: Clean your dishwasher. Before running a cleaning cycle, clear any loose food particles from the bottom of the dishwasher using a paper towel. Follow your dishwasher's manual for specific cleaning instructions.

Step 1: Remove dust from light fixtures and fans. Use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe down ceiling fans and light fixtures. Remove glass covers to clean inside.
Step 2: Target dust on the back of furniture. Use a vacuum cleaner attachment to remove dust from the back of furniture while cleaning.
Step 3: Dust off rugs. Vacuum both sides of rugs, and blot out any stains with warm water and a rag.
Step 4: Remove dust from mattresses. Use a vacuum's upholstery brush to remove dust from the mattress's surface and sides.
Part 4: Targeting Floors, Walls, and Windows
Step 1: Clean your window frames. Use a vacuum's nozzle to remove debris from window frames, then wipe them down with an all-purpose cleaner.
Step 2: Clean your windows. Inside and outside, use a commercial glass cleaner and wipe with a paper towel in the same direction for clear results.
Step 3: Wipe down your walls. Spritz a solution of warm water and dishwashing detergent on the walls, let it sit, then wipe clean with a damp rag.
Remember to test any cleaning solutions on a small, inconspicuous area first.
