The management of Delta State University (DELSU) invites applications from qualified candidates for admission into its diverse postgraduate programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. The programmes offered include Postgraduate Diploma, Professional Masters, Academic Masters, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degrees across various disciplines.
DELSU Postgraduate Courses
Candidates must meet the following general requirements for admission:
- Possess a degree or its equivalent from a Senate-recognized institution.
- Have obtained at least five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics in WASC, NECO, GCE (Ordinary Level), or NABTEB at not more than two sittings. Pass in English or Mathematics alone is not acceptable.
- Candidates applying for a PhD must have obtained a minimum weighted average score of 60% overall.
Specific Requirements for Each Programme

Academic Master's Degree (M.Sc., M.Ed., M.A., LL.M.): Holders of a bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from DELSU or any accredited university with at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) recognized by the Senate.

Professional Master's Degree: Holders of a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from DELSU or any accredited university with at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) recognized by the Senate, or a Higher National Diploma with Upper Credit from a Senate-recognized polytechnic.

Postgraduate Diploma: Holders of a bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from DELSU or any accredited university with at least a Third Class Honours degree or a HND (Lower Credit) recognized by the Senate.

M.Phil Degree Programme: An advanced research master's programme based on taught courses and an independent thesis, suitable for entry into a PhD programme.
Duration of Programmes
- M.Phil: 12 months (full-time), 24 months (part-time).
How to Apply
- Visit the DELSU official website HERE.
- Complete the 2024/2025 PG Admission Form online and generate an application virtual pin for N31,000.00.
- Make payment at any of the designated banks: UBA, Zenith Bank, Unity Bank, Fidelity Bank.
- Upload scanned copies of required documents including transcripts, certificates, NYSC certificate or exemption, and a research proposal (3–5 pages) for Ph.D. candidates.
- Read and follow instructions on the portal before submitting the application.
Application Deadline
The closing date for the sale of DELSU postgraduate forms is 29th November 2024.
Successful candidates will be notified and the list of provisionally admitted candidates will be published at the Postgraduate School, Abraka Campus. Screening and fee payment for provisionally admitted candidates will commence immediately after publication.
