Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) is the leading provider of potable and safe water to over 18 million residents of Lagos State, Nigeria. Established in 1910 with the construction of the Iju Waterworks, LWC has expanded to meet the increasing demand for clean water. However, the current installed water production capacity of 210 million gallons per day (MGD) falls short of demand. To address this, LWC has developed the Lagos Water Supply Master Plan, aiming to increase production capacity to 745 MGD.

As part of its strategic expansion, LWC is hiring a Distribution and Network Officer to enhance its service delivery.

Job Summary

LWC is seeking a skilled Distribution and Network Officer to oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of the water distribution network. The selected candidate will ensure the reliable delivery of potable water, monitor network infrastructure, and address distribution-related challenges. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of Lagos’ water supply system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor water distribution systems to ensure uninterrupted service.

  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.

  • Provide technical support for project implementation and infrastructure expansion.

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of pipelines and distribution facilities.

  • Address customer complaints related to water distribution and ensure prompt resolution.

  • Collect and analyze data for performance reporting and system improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in water distribution, network management, or a related field.

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work in field conditions and respond to emergencies outside regular hours.

  • Certification in water distribution or a related field is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in GIS software, SCADA, and other network management tools.

  • Membership in NSE/COREN is an added advantage.
