We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Drilling Engineer in Lagos. This critical position involves a range of responsibilities aimed at optimizing drilling operations efficiency and ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive wells data sheets and conduct thorough wells offset reviews.
- Lead wells detailed design activities encompassing casing design, mud engineering, and hydraulics modeling.
- Draft all wells Basis of Design documents, adhering to stringent company policies.
- Create detailed drilling procedures for wells.
- Monitor daily well costs and prepare necessary depth vs. days and depth vs. cost curves.
- Oversee accurate input of final well costs into the Company Wells Reporting database.
- Provide technical support during daily drilling operations and attend rig calls as necessary.
- Offer full-time engineering support to assigned drilling rig(s) and ensure data accuracy in daily morning reports.
- Adhere to Global Drilling Community Standards and SOP's.
- Generate wells AFEs and contribute to the maintenance of the well cost estimating and tracking system.
- Collaborate with specialist contractors and suppliers to ensure project success.
- Produce End of Well reports for all assigned wells and evaluate appropriate offset wells.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
- Willingness to travel to rig locations as needed.
- Minimum of 7+ years of relevant work experience in Well Engineering with an Operator.
- Proficiency in industry-standard Well Engineering software such as Wellcalt, Stress Check, Drilling Office, Well Plan, and Compass.
