We're currently seeking a skilled Editor to join our team in Ibadan, Oyo, on a full-time basis. The Editor will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and coherence of our publications while adhering to our editorial standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, review, and revise content for publication, ensuring it meets the needs of our target audience.
- Correct spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors to maintain the integrity of the content.
- Rewrite text as necessary to enhance readability and comprehension.
- Organize writing workshops and conduct book reviews to foster continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the customer service representative to develop engaging social media content.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to authors on manuscript improvements.
- Work closely with writers to refine their ideas and stories.
- Ensure proper documentation and safekeeping of all company manuscripts and digital copies.
- Make editorial decisions and suggestions to enhance the quality of content.
- Collaborate with team members to create compelling social media content.
- Verify the accuracy of facts cited in materials for publication.
- Write and edit external correspondence as needed.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management or the Head of Department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English Language (B.A or B.Ed.); a Second Degree is advantageous.
- Immediate availability for employment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent team player with the ability to work independently.
- Residency in Ibadan is mandatory.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Editor.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Thorough understanding of grammar and English language conventions.
Salary: N90,000 - N100,000 monthly (depending on experience)
