We are recruiting for the position of Education Assistant in Zaria and Kafanchan, Kaduna. This is a 1-year contract position, and the role reports directly to the Education Officer.
Role Overview
The Education Assistant will be part of the Education team and assist with key activities, including enrolment, back-to-learning campaigns, community engagement with SBMCs, and ensuring accountability through efficient feedback mechanisms. The role also involves supporting youth/adolescent programming and teacher training in communities.
Main Responsibilities
- Implement educational outreach programs, ensuring technical quality and alignment with proposals and donor requirements.
- Facilitate timely procurement and distribution of materials and equipment.
- Contribute to assessments and monitoring of project progress.
- Supervise and manage teachers and facilitate teacher training programs.
- Support youth/adolescent programs focusing on life skills and basic literacy.
- Engage with communities and ensure project compliance with both local and international standards.

- Work closely with the Education Officer and Education Coordinator for daily planning and implementation.
- Ensure compliance with Save the Children policies and donor requirements.
- Ensure accountability and transparency in project execution.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Education or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in program implementation in NGOs.
- Strong computer literacy and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in remote, field-based locations with limited infrastructure.
- Fluency in English and local languages (Hausa, Fulfulde, etc.) is required.
