General Requirements: All candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE ‘O’ level exams through WAEC/NECO or any equivalent recognized by the university.
These credits must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, obtained in not more than two sittings. The UTME cut-off mark is 150 for the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences and 200 for the MBBS programme. Additional criteria, such as interviews, may apply.
Specific Requirements for MBBS Degree Programme (Direct Entry): Candidates applying for the MBBS programme must have one of the following qualifications:
- Graduates with a B.Sc. in Basic Medical Sciences or Biological Sciences from a recognized university (minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division)
- At least two Advanced Level GCE passes at acceptable grade levels
- Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) qualifications at acceptable grade levels
Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences:

- Graduates with a B.Sc. in relevant fields from a recognized university (minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division)
- NCE at credit level, ND, or approved equivalents with at least Lower Credit in relevant fields
- At least two Advanced Level GCE passes at acceptable grade levels
- Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) qualifications at acceptable grade levels
