After six months since its launch, the Tesla Cybertruck is gearing up for a significant update: Full Self-Driving. Elon Musk recently disclosed the anticipated release date for this groundbreaking feature.
Despite its tenure in the market, the Cybertruck has yet to receive Tesla's Full Self-Driving suite. The delay is attributed to unique design elements such as the steer-by-wire system and camera positioning, setting it apart from other vehicles in Tesla's lineup.
However, Musk's recent statements suggest that the wait is nearly over. He announced that Tesla plans to initiate the rollout of Full Self-Driving on the Cybertruck "in late June." This rollout coincides with the upcoming release of version 12.5 of the Full Self-Driving software.
Musk also hinted at substantial improvements in version 12.5, including a notable enhancement in miles per intervention (MPI) and a streamlined single-stack architecture, particularly beneficial for highway driving.
The integration of Full Self-Driving on the Cybertruck marks a significant milestone for Tesla, presenting a unique challenge as the company ventures into autonomous technology for electric pickups. While navigating this uncharted territory may pose obstacles, Tesla's track record suggests adeptness in overcoming such challenges.
As Tesla paves the way for autonomous technology in diverse vehicle types, the Cybertruck's Full Self-Driving rollout serves as a pivotal test for the automaker's future endeavors.
