Job Overview
As a Country Environmental Manager at Coca-Cola HBC, you will play a vital role in shaping our sustainability initiatives. Reporting directly to the Country Quality Safety and Environment Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and monitoring of our sustainability efforts. Your primary focus will be ensuring compliance with ISO standards, Coca-Cola Operating Requirements (KORE), and other regulatory requirements. You will also be tasked with conducting audits and maintaining management systems to support Coca-Cola HBC’s environmental goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of Coca-Cola HBC’s environmental and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 46001, and local regulatory environmental requirements.
- Conduct periodic environmental audits to ensure systems and processes are in line with Coca-Cola’s global standards and sustainability commitments.
- Actively engage in the implementation and monitoring of water management, waste management, and wastewater treatment strategies.
- Maintain and improve sustainability practices across all operations, focusing on energy and water efficiency, particularly within the food and beverage manufacturing sectors.
- Drive continuous improvement through structured problem-solving methods such as Kaizen and root cause analysis.
- Contribute to climate change reporting systems and support science-based targets (SBT) to enhance Coca-Cola HBC’s commitment to sustainability.
- Utilize MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for assessments, data analysis, and presentation of reports.
- Stay up-to-date with local, international, and industry-specific environmental regulations and legal requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Lead/Internal Auditor certification for ISO 14001 and ISO 46001.
- Professional certification in Environmental Management (preferred).
- Strong communication skills, with fluency in both written and spoken English.
- Proven experience in environmental compliance, sustainability management, and reporting systems.
- In-depth knowledge of global and local environmental challenges, particularly in the beverage or manufacturing sectors.
- Ability to analyze data and develop action plans for improving environmental performance.
- Understanding of life cycle analysis and environmental impact assessments.
