Position Overview
Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a skilled F-35 Low Observable Survivability Specialist or F-35 Principal Low Observable Survivability Specialist to serve as a F-35 Supportable Low Observables (SLO) Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Fort Worth, TX, supporting the F-35 Lightning II Program.
Job Duties
- Work independently in a high-tempo environment supporting F-35 aircraft operations and maintenance.
- Influence design concepts and conduct maintainability assessments.
- Evaluate LO materials and repair processes for field suitability.
- Develop and translate engineering data into actionable field repairs.
- Recommend improvements for materials, processes, and tooling with engineering and government collaboration.
- Review and validate engineering documents, specifications, and technical data.
- Author Maintenance Task Analysis (MTAs) and maintenance plans, contributing to database inputs.
- Analyze the impact of signature degradation and maintenance on aircraft availability.
- Support F-35 engineering changes and monitor system performance indicators.
- Identify technical issues and propose solutions through the engineering disposition process.
- Provide guidance on aircraft and equipment maintenance to military and civilian personnel.
- Conduct maintainability and repair demonstrations as required.
- Offer on-site support at F-35 operational locations per customer or program management requests.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, overtime, holidays, and travel on Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY) as needed.
Basic Qualifications
Low Observable Survivability Specialist (T02)
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2 years of aircraft maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active DOD Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR).
Principal Low Observable Survivability Specialist (T03)
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active DOD Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with F-35 aircraft maintenance.
- Prior military or field service experience.
- Background in maintaining/supporting Low Observable (LO) aircraft.
- Knowledge of advanced composite and airframe repair techniques.
- Familiarity with Special Access Programs and engineering tools such as CATIA, VAS, and PDM.
- Proficiency in F-35 applications like QADS, ALIS, CMMS, CRM, and JDL.
Salary Range: $68,800 - $103,200 (T02)
Salary Range 2: $84,600 - $127,000 (T03)
