Human Capital Partners (HCP) is recruiting on behalf of Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), a key provider of potable water to over 18 million residents of Lagos State, Nigeria. Established in 1910, LWC’s mission is to meet the growing demand for safe drinking water. With a current water production capacity of 210 million gallons per day, LWC aims to increase capacity to 745 MGD as part of the Lagos Water Supply Master Plan.

Job Summary

Lagos Water Corporation is looking for a detail-oriented Finance & Accounts Officer to oversee its financial operations. This includes budgeting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and ensuring accurate financial management to support LWC’s goal of providing reliable water services to Lagos residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting and expenditure processes.

  • Accounting Operations: Ensure proper accounting for transactions.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial reports and statements.

  • Payroll Management: Process employee salaries and benefits.

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations.

  • Internal Controls & Audits: Monitor financial operations and conduct internal audits.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • HND/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ANAN, ACCA) are advantageous.

  • At least 3 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the public sector or utilities industry.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
