CBM is an International Christian Development Organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities in the world’s poorest countries. We provide grants sourced from private and institutional donors to local partners, who implement projects based on contracts with CBM, ensuring adherence to implementation, accounting, and reporting standards.
We are currently recruiting for the position of:
Job Title: Finance Officer - RLM
Location: Rivers
Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Manage all financial transactions and postings for the RLM project proactively.
- Create and balance periodic accounting reports, coaching colleagues on financial compliance and reporting best practices.
- Provide financial support within the Country Office in Nigeria for the RLM project.
- Develop and implement finance and accounting systems, ensuring compliance and robust internal controls.
- Input financial transactions in real-time into the accounting system for accurate reporting.
- Maintain internal accounting systems and records to ensure the reliability of financial information.
- Process all bank payments with proper documentation and internal approvals.
- Reconcile ledgers to confirm accurate transaction recording and reporting.
- Submit timely reports in accordance with CBM, donor, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, file, and archive all financial and contractual documents following CBM procedures.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including statutory accounts and tax filings.
- Assist in project audits and logistics planning for CBM project activities.
- Provide guidance to colleagues and partners on project finance procedures.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance and Accounting; professional qualifications (ACA or ACCA) and audit experience are advantages.
- Minimum of three years' experience in similar roles, especially within international NGOs or development organizations.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting systems and financial analysis.
- Bilingual proficiency in English for professional communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Strong financial reporting skills and effective team collaboration.
