CBM is an International Christian Development Organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities in some of the world's poorest countries. We provide grants from private and institutional donors to local partners who implement projects based on detailed contracts with CBM. Our Country Offices (CO) ensure rigorous control and monitoring of partner projects, validating compliance with organizational and statutory requirements.
Position: Finance Officer - RLM
Location: Ogun

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage transactions and postings for the RLM project.
- Create and balance periodic accounting reports, coaching colleagues on financial compliance and reporting principles.
- Provide comprehensive financial support for the RLM project in the Country Office – Nigeria.
- Develop and implement finance and accounting systems for the project, ensuring compliance and robust internal controls.
- Reconcile ledgers to ensure accurate transaction reporting.
- Submit timely reports per established requirements (CBM, donor, regulatory).
- Maintain proper documentation of all financial, accounting, and contractual records according to CBM procedures.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including audits and tax filings.
- Input financial transactions in real-time to maintain the integrity of financial reports.
- Process payments, ensuring all supporting documents are verified and approved.
- Guide colleagues and partners on financial procedures and policies.
- Assist in project audits and activity reporting for CBM and stakeholders.
- Maintain an organized filing system and updated database information.
- Support logistics planning and implementation for project activities.
- Facilitate travel advances for staff based outside the Country Office.
- Perform all duties related to the position and any ad hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance and Accounting; professional qualifications (ACA or ACCA) preferred.
- Minimum three years of experience in finance, particularly with international NGOs.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and financial analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Bilingual proficiency in English (reading, speaking, writing).
- Strong financial reporting and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining confidentiality.
