This position is fully remote!

Your Role

As a Financial Consultant (Retirement Consultant) at Empower, you'll be part of our growing Personal Wealth sales team, providing crucial support to our customers during significant life events. You'll guide them on account options tailored to their retirement savings goals, such as 401K and IRA products. At Empower, we believe in owning your career. New Financial Consultants have the opportunity to advance to Senior Financial Consultant roles, significantly boosting their income potential. Our compensation package includes a base salary plus incentive compensation, allowing you to earn a generous paycheck based on specific sales-related goals set by Empower.

Responsibilities

  • Provide over-the-phone guidance at key life moments, such as starting or ending employment, focusing on employer-sponsored retirement accounts.
  • Discuss available account options like 401K and IRAs, aligning them with customers’ retirement savings goals.
  • Educate customers about their retirement plan specifics, comparing options to best support their savings goals.
  • Focus on deepening customer relationships with Empower.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in sales, preferably inside sales.
  • Current FINRA licenses or the ability to obtain FINRA 7 & 63 registrations within corporate-established timelines and complete FINRA fingerprinting upon hire.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and independently.
  • Demonstrated skills in sales, relationship management, and customer service.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to engage with customers, ask questions, share thoughts, and offer solutions.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Previous experience with inbound and/or phone-based sales.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, with prior experience using Salesforce a plus.
  • A solid understanding of IRAs, retirement investment products/services, and the qualified retirement plan environment.
  • A growth mindset to meet company and team sales goals.

Salary Range: $52,000.00 - $64,000.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements, and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
