Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and ensuring strict adherence to accounting standards. Your strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail will be essential as you address discrepancies, recommend process improvements, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive financial records and statements, including general ledger entries, balance sheets, and income statements.
- Reconcile accounts and bank statements to ensure precision and completeness.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective measures.
- Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Manage accounting transactions, balance sheets, and profit/loss statements.
- Report on the company’s financial status and liquidity.
- Audit financial transactions and documentation for accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial data and perform database backups as needed.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and regulations.
- Prepare reports on accruals, receivables, and payables.
- Generate budget forecasts and ensure timely publication of financial statements.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments.
- Calculate taxes and prepare related returns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field with 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven track record as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software, MS Office applications, and OPERA PMS is essential.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Salary
N600,000 - N700,000 Monthly
