Benin Electricity Distribution Plc. (BEDC), commonly referred to as Benin Disco, is a leading retail electricity distribution company licensed by the federal government of Nigeria. As one of the successor distribution companies formed from the unbundling and privatization of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria Plc, BEDC plays a crucial role in providing electricity to the southern region of Nigeria.

Our service area spans Delta, Edo, Ekiti, and Ondo States, covering a vast geographical area of 55,770 square kilometers. With a network of 25 business districts and approximately 350 offices across these four states, we serve around 13 million people and approximately 4 million households.

Position: HR Administrator

Location: Benin, Edo
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Support various HR projects and processes, focusing on recruitment and staff engagement activities.
  • Coordinate HR administrative procedures and processes to ensure smooth operation.
  • Assist in periodic audits of HR files and records, ensuring all required documents are collected, maintained, and filed correctly.
  • Provide clerical support to the HR department, facilitating day-to-day HR functions.
  • Help administer recruitment briefs, screen candidates, and identify suitable candidates for various positions.
  • Plan and coordinate the documentation and onboarding process for new hires.
  • Assist in organizing and executing employee engagement activities to foster a positive work environment.
  • Perform any additional functions or tasks as assigned by the HR department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, with 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • CIPM or any other HR professional certification is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle various administrative and HR-related tasks with precision.
