Job Title: HSE Officer
Location: Kogi, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
- Implement safety manuals and guidelines at designated sites.
- Develop policies, plans, and procedures to minimize risks.
- Conduct training sessions on safe work practices, fire fighting, and emergency response.
- Supervise fire drills at sites.
- Lead monthly safety committee meetings to review identified hazards.
- Prepare safety manuals, emergency response plans, spill prevention plans, and firefighting plans for plants.
- Monitor work progress to ensure adherence to safety protocols and equipment usage.
- Conduct Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) at sites.
- Make recommendations for corrective actions and ensure follow-up for compliance.
- Perform monthly inspections and prepare reports.
- Audit permits for hot work, confined space, and working at height.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping at sites.
- Educate employees on near-miss reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of similar experience, preferably in a power plant setting.
- Fluency in English is essential.
