Job Purpose
The HR Officer will support the daily operations of the Human Resources department, assisting in various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, and benefits administration. This role will involve close collaboration with department managers to cultivate a positive work environment aligned with the organization's goals and values.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Selection:
- Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and reference checks.
- Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
- Maintain a candidate database and foster strong relationships with external recruiters.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Support the HR Manager in managing employee grievances and disciplinary procedures.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work culture through initiatives that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Assist with payroll processes to ensure timely salary distribution.
- Help administer employee benefits, including health insurance and pensions.
- Manage employee leave requests and maintain attendance records.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate employee records, both physical and digital, in compliance with data protection laws.
- Generate reports and analyze HR metrics to provide insights to the HR Manager.
- Manage HR databases and systems to ensure information is current and accessible.
Health and Safety:
- Assist in developing and implementing health and safety policies.
- Coordinate workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Policy Implementation and Compliance:
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are up-to-date and compliant with current employment laws.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure HR practices align with legal requirements.
Training and Development:
- Coordinate employee training sessions and workshops in collaboration with departmental managers.
- Identify training needs and track employee participation in various programs.
- Maintain an accurate training database and records.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in HR or a related field.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with HR practices and employment law; experience with HRIS software is a plus.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS preferred.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
