NFF President Ibrahim Gusau Urges Falconets to Qualify for 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup
The President of the Nigerian Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, has called on the Falconets to ensure their qualification for the 2024 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup. Currently, the Falconets are competing in the second round of the Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualification series, with their first-leg match against Tanzania on the horizon.
A week following the initial encounter, both under-20 teams will reconvene in Abuja for the second leg, vying for a spot in the 2024 World Cup in Colombia.
In anticipation of the first leg match in Dar es Salaam, Ibrahim Gusau offered words of encouragement to the players, urging them to put forth their best efforts in securing a place at the tournament.

During his visit with the team in Abuja, Gusau emphasized, “Your journey begins in Tanzania, but your ultimate destination is Colombia, where the World Cup will be held next year.
It's important to remember that this is just the start of your journey. I have no doubt that you will conquer Tanzania and go on to qualify for the World Cup finals.
“Our country has never failed to qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in over two decades. I'm confident that you won't be the first to associate with failure.
Therefore, you must go the extra mile, heed your coaches' guidance, and play according to instructions.”
The 2024 Under-20 Women’s World Cup is scheduled to kick off on September 22, 2024, and it will feature 24 countries for the first time in the tournament's history. Stay tuned for updates on the Falconets' journey to the World Cup.
