About the Role:
The Information Assistant role, situated within the Nigeria Country Department (RDNG) of AfDB, presents an opportunity to contribute to the Bank's mission by efficiently managing information resources and supporting communication initiatives. Key responsibilities include organizing documents, e-filing, scanning physical documents, correspondence management, and maintaining the Information Centre.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Organizing Documents: Collating and archiving essential documents from both operational and administrative staff into the Bank's eDocument management platforms.
- E-filing: Uploading documents onto platforms such as Sankofa, adhering to categorization, indexing, and metadata procedures.
- Scanning Physical Documents: Digitizing physical documents for retention in accordance with the Bank's Records Management policy.
- Correspondence Management: Tracking, digitizing, and processing incoming physical correspondence through existing Bank systems.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of physical documents and their locations within the Bank premises.
- Cataloguing: Developing a cataloging system for easy reference to physical documents and publications.
- Information Centre Management: Effectively managing day-to-day operations of the Information Centre, including sourcing and displaying relevant information, publications, and brochures.
- Supporting Communication Initiatives: Assisting with drafting, editing, and proofreading materials for the Nigeria Country Department website, social media campaigns, and event management.
- Brand Management: Supporting the branding of RDNG's knowledge products and event management activities while ensuring adherence to brand identity guidelines.
- Reporting: Providing reports on project implementation and other activities as required.
Competencies Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Science, Library Science, Data Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience, with proficiency in English.
- Experience in international organizations preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic document management systems and standard software.
- Knowledge of SAP modules and cloud systems advantageous.
