Role and Responsibilities
- Automation and Oversight: Utilize proprietary and commercial software to orchestrate deployment and oversee a vast computational infrastructure supporting diverse software engineering teams.
- Architectural Strategies: Establish architectural strategies and standards to optimize resource management in software development environments, ensuring efficiency and consistency both on-premises and in public cloud environments.
- Team Collaboration: Directly contribute to and guide teams in crafting automation solutions for operational and software development endeavors.
- Application Enhancement: Enhance internally developed applications and craft declarative code using tools such as Puppet and Ansible.
Key Skills
- Proficiency in designing and implementing automation solutions for operational and software development teams, with essential experience in tools like Puppet and Ansible.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Automation Specialists, DevOps, and Infrastructure Engineers.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions to improve infrastructure management efficiency and reliability.
- Experience in configuring and managing large-scale infrastructure components using configuration management tools.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD and version control systems like Git.
- Commitment to staying updated with the latest technologies and trends in automation, DevOps, and infrastructure management.
Desirable Skills
- Architectural Design: Contribute to the establishment of architectural strategies and standards for managing software development environment resources.
- Cloud Computing: Knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including provisioning and managing resources in a cloud environment.
- Technical Documentation: Proficient in process and tool documentation to share with teammates and other teams.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
- 5+ years of software development experience with Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Puppet, Ansible, and web applications development.
- 5+ years of Windows System Administration experience, including Server & Client OS, Microsoft Apps (Teams, Office, PowerAutomate, PowerBI), and troubleshooting skills.
- 2+ years of Linux System Administration experience, with RHCE as a plus.
- Experience with PXE, Kickstart, and vulnerability management in Linux and Windows environments.
