We are currently seeking a skilled Inspection Engineer to join our team in Lagos. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our operations while adhering to high environmental standards. As an Inspection Engineer, you will be responsible for a range of activities, including preparing yearly campaigns, providing technical support during offshore inspections, coordinating emergency responses, and ensuring timely reporting and closure of campaign activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and organization of yearly campaigns, including risk assessments and permit-to-work procedures.
- Providing technical support to offshore inspection staff and addressing technical queries or logistical issues.
- Coordinating emergency responses related to containment loss and implementing appropriate mitigations.
- Reviewing inspection reports, initiating follow-up actions, and ensuring timely dissemination of information.
- Collaborating with other inspection engineers to update asset registers and planning files.
- Contributing to backlog clearance and maintaining safety standards.
- Reporting safety concerns and operational improvements to management.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Engineering or relevant university degree with a background in metallurgy, welding, mechanical, or materials engineering. Specific training in inspection, quality control, and corrosion control is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years in the petrochemical or oil and gas industry, with knowledge of RBI methodology and UNISUP.
- Additional Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to coordinate and supervise inspection activities, and proficiency in managing contractors.
Context & Environment:
- Operating within the constraints of a new asset, the Egina FPSO, with limited core crew on-site.
- Inspection activities organized in campaigns to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Production level: 180kbopd and 3.5Mmscm/d during plateau period.
