Job Summary

The Internal Audit Officer will play a crucial role in evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes within Reddington Multi-Specialist Hospital. The individual in this position will be responsible for conducting regular and ad-hoc audits to ensure compliance with financial, operational, and regulatory standards. Additionally, they will provide valuable insights and recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce operational risks, and ensure the hospital's adherence to both healthcare and financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Audits: Conduct routine and special audits across various hospital departments, financial operations, and processes to assess adherence to internal and regulatory standards.
Financial Record Reviews: Evaluate financial documents, records, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with hospital policies, as well as local regulations.
Audit Recommendations and Follow-Up: Collaborate with hospital management to implement audit recommendations, ensuring that corrective actions are taken and progress is monitored.
Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, risks, and suggested improvements to senior management and the board of directors.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the hospital complies with relevant regulatory standards, including healthcare-specific and financial reporting regulations.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks, both financial and operational, and recommend solutions to mitigate these risks and enhance operational efficiency.
Internal Controls Evaluation: Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and propose necessary improvements to safeguard the hospital’s assets and operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of Nigerian healthcare regulations, financial reporting standards, and internal auditing practices.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIA is an added advantage.
A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably in a healthcare setting.
