Tomato Jos Farming and Processing Limited, a thriving social enterprise based in Kaduna, Nigeria, is committed to revolutionizing local production for local consumption. Backed by private equity, we aspire to capture 10% of Nigeria's processed tomato market over the next five years. Our operations revolve around sourcing tomatoes from smallholder farmers, crafting premium consumer goods for Nigeria and West Africa, managing a 500-hectare commercial farm, and empowering over 500 smallholder farmers through our successful program.

Position: Internal Auditor
Location: Kaduna

Job Description / Responsibilities:

  • Define internal audit scope and develop annual plans.
  • Analyze accounting documentation and reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct pre- and post-payment audits, along with audits of inventory and fixed assets.
  • Identify operational loopholes and propose risk mitigation strategies and cost-saving measures.
  • Establish and enforce compliance with company policies and procedures to safeguard assets.
  • Provide recommendations to strengthen the internal control system.
  • Lead ad-hoc or special audit assignments and investigations.
  • Collaborate with process owners to implement recommendations from external audit management letters.
  • Compile and present comprehensive reports on audit findings and recommendations.
  • Conduct follow-up audits to track progress and ensure compliance.
  • Offer impartial advice to ensure legal and goal achievement.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field.
  • Membership in ICAN, ACCA, or CIA.
  • Proficiency in investigation and analytical techniques.
  • Familiarity with internal auditing standards, responsibilities, and ethical codes.
  • Advantageous to have working knowledge of the agricultural and manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years' audit experience in a reputable organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
