Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is a renowned international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing assistance to populations in distress worldwide. Founded on principles of neutrality, impartiality, and independence, MSF offers aid to victims of natural disasters, armed conflicts, and other emergencies regardless of race, religion, creed, or political affiliation. Since February 1996, MSF has been actively engaged in Nigeria, working closely with the Federal Government under a Memorandum of Understanding to deliver vital healthcare services.
Currently, MSF is collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Health, as well as state and local health departments, on various health initiatives across Nigeria. As part of our ongoing efforts, we are seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Logistics Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising daily logistics activities and ensuring maintenance of MSF equipment, facilities, and infrastructures in line with organizational standards.
- Overseeing maintenance activities, managing non-medical stocks and equipment, and evaluating rehabilitation needs.
- Coordinating logistics team activities, including scheduling, task assignment, and recruitment.
- Managing vehicle fleet maintenance, ensuring compliance with standards, and instructing drivers on safe practices.
- Handling logistics orders, procurement, and material reception according to MSF procedures.
Specific Duties:
- Managing office administrative activities, including drafting contracts and maintaining facility infrastructure.
- Coordinating facility maintenance, overseeing inventory, and managing key systems.
- Leading the logistics team, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to protocols.
- Handling ICT requirements, including computer updates, antivirus maintenance, and backups.
- Maintaining filing systems and ensuring data integrity.
- Planning and executing monthly facility maintenance checklists.
Requirements:
- Education: Secondary education with formal technical training.
- Experience: Minimum one year in MSF or two years in a similar role outside MSF.
- Languages: Proficiency in English; Hausa language skills desirable.
- Knowledge: Essential computer literacy (Word, Excel).
- Competencies: Results orientation, teamwork, flexibility, commitment to MSF principles, stress management.
