As part of our ongoing growth and commitment to maintaining the highest standards, we are seeking a talented individual to join our team in the role of Management Accountant, based in Lagos on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Craft comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements adhering to IFRS standards.
- Conduct meticulous variance analysis, presenting insightful findings to management.
- Ensure the punctual and precise reporting of financial data.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Collaborate in formulating annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor and communicate financial performance against established budgets.
- Offer strategic financial insights and recommendations to support organizational planning.
Cost Management
- Conduct in-depth analysis of cost variances and implement effective cost control strategies.
- Develop and maintain robust cost accounting systems to ensure accurate product costing.
- Identify avenues for cost reduction and operational efficiency enhancements.
Financial Analysis
- Undertake thorough financial analysis to inform strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Construct financial models and projections to aid in investment and financing endeavors.
- Perform profitability analysis for distinct business units and product lines.
Systems and Processes
- Enhance and uphold financial systems and processes to heighten precision and efficiency.
- Implement and manage ERP systems to streamline financial operations.
- Safeguard data integrity and accuracy in all financial reporting.
Team Collaboration
- Forge close partnerships with fellow finance team members to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior finance staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Compliance and Internal Controls
- Guarantee adherence to financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Develop and implement internal controls to protect company assets.
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.
Management Reporting
- Compile and present management reports to senior leadership, offering valuable financial insights.
- Collaborate with department heads to deliver financial support and guidance for operational and strategic decisions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in management accounting or a related role.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Profound knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, SAP).
- Advanced Excel skills with the capability to analyze complex financial data.
