Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role requires a strong understanding of financial reporting, tax compliance, and upstream oil and gas accounting principles. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance with regulatory requirements, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities

Perform general ledger reconciliation and cleanup, ensuring the timely closing of accounts payable and receivable modules across all entities.

Execute month-end accrual processes and post journal entries into the general ledger.

Prepare and submit monthly accounts, trial balances, and financial schedules to the Finance Controller, Management, and Group Finance.

Ensure timely collection of tax receipts from relevant authorities and dispatch withholding tax (WHT) receipts to vendors.

Work closely with the company's tax advisers to ensure accurate computation and filing of Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) estimates and returns.

Submit PPT and Company Income Tax (CIT) returns promptly for all entities and address inquiries from tax authorities.

Prepare and submit monthly crude entitlement reports to joint venture partners.

Develop annual financial statements for upstream companies.

Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing required financial data and supporting documentation to ensure timely audit completion.

Maintain intercompany financial records and reconcile differences between related entities.

Generate monthly tax reports, remit applicable taxes, and file tax returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Review tax liabilities in collaboration with the Crude Oil Marketing Department (COMD) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Provide financial reports and analyses as required by management.
Required Qualifications & Experience
-
Minimum of four years of industry experience in financial reporting, with a strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and upstream oil and gas accounting.

A qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA) with a solid background in accounting, audit, and financial reporting.

Experience working in an upstream oil and gas company or a reputable audit firm.

Comprehensive knowledge of upstream oil and gas tax laws.

Proficiency in accounting software such as ORACLE Accounting Systems, Sun Systems, and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
