Scholarship Overview
The Mastercard Foundation and Arizona State University (ASU) have partnered to provide scholarships that will support 120 African students over five years, from 2025 to 2030. The program offers a two-year on-campus master’s degree focused on developing technology and innovation skills to meet the demands of the global digital economy.

Between the first and second year of study, students will take part in a two-month internship in Africa, aligning with their field of study. Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Mastercard Foundation/Arizona State University Innovation and Technology Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of an African country.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and a commitment to ethical leadership.
- Be actively engaged in community service.
- Hold an undergraduate degree by July 2025.
- Be between the ages of 18 and 33 by the application deadline.
- Meet the academic requirements for admission, including English proficiency.
- Be able to reside in Phoenix, Arizona for the duration of the program.
Application Process
