Job Title: Material Logistics Coordinator
Job Summary
The Material Logistics Coordinator will supervise and coordinate all activities related to the movement of project materials to and from construction yards (onshore) and sites. The role requires optimizing on-site logistics to ensure efficiency and handling priorities and emergencies in collaboration with contractors (CTRs), company personnel (CPY), and third parties.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials between sections or CTRs/CPY according to project construction and shipping schedules.
- Maintain and update manual or computerized records of material flow.
- Provide real-time and weekly updates on material movements between work sites, sites, and warehouses.
- Review construction schedules and check with supervisors to determine material requirements and track overdue materials.
- Serve as the single point of contact for all EPC CTR Onshore and Offshore.
- Liaise with TECHLOG, contractors, and service vendors regarding material movements and needs.
- Prepare project material management policies and strategies in collaboration with Project Management and the JV Affiliate.
- Arrange for repair, assembly, and monitor the movement of materials and parts.
- Prepare material reception plans within overall construction strategies and schedules.
- Requisition materials and establish sequential delivery dates to CTR yards, sites, and offshore based on job priorities and material availability.
- Examine materials delivered to verify conformance to specifications.
- Arrange for material transfers between CTR yards and offshore to meet construction schedules.
- Compute the amount of material required to complete job orders using knowledge of product and manufacturing processes.
- Compile and maintain records such as material inventory, project construction reports, and material status and location.
- Establish Site Materials Control Procedures ensuring adequate manpower and facilities for:
- Site warehousing organization and approach
- Warehouse size
- Material handling manpower
- Safety program
- Traffic flow
- Workspace
- Warehouse layout, equipment, and racking requirements
- Lay down area requirements
- Material handling equipment
- Small tool and equipment requirements for work sites
- Ensure all materials and equipment are properly handled, controlled, stored, and maintained per project procedures, specifications, and vendor requirements.
- Supervise HSE and QAQC pre-inspection for non-stock items.
- Ensure safe and efficient working practices during loading/discharging operations.
- Oversee UNISUP activities with Stock Control (including good receipt and inbound delivery).
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- HND or Degree in Engineering or related field
- 5 – 10 years of professional experience in material logistics coordination
