African Natural Resources & Mines Limited (ANRML) was established in 2012 as part of the African Industries Group's strategy to pursue backward integration for its steel production. ANRML commenced its mining operations with the acquisition of a mining lease in Kaduna State. Since then, ANRML has expanded its portfolio by obtaining multiple mining and exploration licenses for various minerals across more than 15 sites, where exploration activities are actively underway.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the following position:
Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Plant)
Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary:
- Supervise and manage all maintenance and repair activities related to Crusher Plant Equipment.
- Lead and motivate a team, ensuring coordination and cooperation among departments.
- Execute mechanical maintenance tasks with the utmost regard for quality, safety, and efficiency to maximize equipment uptime while minimizing costs.
- Implement and enhance preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and allocate tasks among mechanical technicians based on their skills.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.
- Prepare maintenance reports for the Head of Mechanical Maintenance.
- Analyze production and maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Inspect equipment functionality post-maintenance activities.
- Estimate labor and material requirements for plant equipment maintenance.
- Optimize maintenance operations to maximize equipment availability.
- Ensure equipment is in optimal operating condition post-repairs.
- Develop specifications for manufacture and determine materials, equipment, and layout of plants and systems.
Qualification and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B. Eng) is required.
- 5–10 years of experience as a plant mechanical engineer.
- Hands-on experience in maintaining large equipment such as ball mills, vibrating screens, gear boxes, crushers, etc.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments.
- Strong management, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in plant safety, mechanical maintenance, heavy equipment erection, etc.
- High-level experience in drive alignment.
