Medical Data Processing Officer at Medecins Sans Frontieres

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an esteemed international NGO dedicated to humanitarian causes, is seeking a Medical Data Processing Officer to join our mission in Talata Mafara, Zamfara, Nigeria. Our organization, committed to aiding populations in crisis irrespective of race, religion, or political affiliation, has been actively engaged in Nigeria since February 1996 under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Government.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and input medical data accurately into MSF databases, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to protocols.
• Generate reports to support project development based on epidemiological information.
• Maintain data quality and reliability, promptly identifying and rectifying errors.
• Facilitate training of healthcare workers on data collection procedures.
• Compile and present reports to medical and laboratory teams regularly.

Context-Specific Accountabilities:

• Ensure equipment and recording areas are well-maintained.
• Address data management issues promptly and maintain confidentiality.
• Participate in the search for missing data and back up processed data regularly.
• Assist in outbreak data collection and consumption data entry.

Requirements:

• Education: Higher education with computer literacy; a degree in Information Technology or a related field is desirable.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience, preferably in data entry/analysis.
• Languages: Proficiency in mission and local languages is essential.
• Knowledge: Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Internet).
• Competencies: Results orientation, teamwork, commitment to MSF principles.
