By 1965, it had grown to become the Nigerian branch of NEM General Insurance Association Limited, based in London. This milestone was followed by another significant achievement in 1989 when the company became publicly listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange after its privatization by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
